Waste Management Services in Singapore

As an NEA-licensed Toxic Industrial Waste Collector and a trusted industrial waste management company in Singapore, CESCO Environmental Technologies Pte. Ltd. provides safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible waste management solutions for businesses across the oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, offshore, manufacturing, engineering, and industrial sectors.

Every industrial facility generates waste, and in Singapore the collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of industrial waste are governed by strict environmental regulations. Managing these waste streams correctly is essential not only for regulatory compliance but also for workplace safety, environmental protection, and operational efficiency. CESCO Environmental Technologies Pte. Ltd. delivers comprehensive industrial waste management services in Singapore, helping businesses manage everything  from routine industrial waste to toxic industrial waste requiring licensed collection and controlled disposal.

Registered under SSIC Code 38200, Treatment and Disposal of Waste (including Environmental Remediation Activities), CESCO manages the entire waste management process, from waste identification and classification to collection, transportation, treatment, recovery and final disposal at approved facilities. Every service is  supported by the necessary documentation to help clients demonstrate regulatory compliance, and maintain complete traceability throughout the waste disposal process.

What Are Industrial Waste Management Services?

Industrial waste management involves the systematic handling of waste generated from manufacturing, processing, maintenance, and construction, and industrial operations. It encompasses waste identification, classification, segregation, storage, collection, transportation, treatment, recycling or recovery, and final disposal in accordance with environmental regulations. Unlike general commercial or municipal waste, industrial waste often contains hazardous, toxic, corrosive, flammable, or reactive materials that require specialised handling by licensed waste management companies using approved treatment and disposal facilities

Effective industrial waste management helps businesses:

  • Maintain compliance with Singapore’s environmental regulations
  • Reduce environmental liabilities and operational risks
  • Improve workplace safety and housekeeping

At CESCO’s, we ensure every waste stream is handled safely, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements from collection through to final disposal.

Why Compliant Waste Management Matters?

In Singapore, industrial and toxic industrial waste is regulated by the National Environment Agency (NEA). Toxic industrial waste must be collected by licensed waste collectors and transported to approved treatment or disposal facilities, with appropriate documentation maintained throughout the process. Importantly, responsibility for industrial waste remains with the waste generator until it has been properly treated or disposed of. Incorrect waste classification, improper storage, unlicensed transportation, or disposal through unauthorised channels may expose businesses to regulatory penalties, environmental liabilities, and reputational risk.

As an NEA-licensed Toxic Industrial Waste Collector, CESCO manages every stage of the waste lifecycle in accordance with regulatory requirements and our Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety (QEOHS) management framework. From accurate waste classification and licensed transport to compliant treatment and complete documentation we help businesses meet their environmental obligations with confidence.

What is considered toxic industrial waste in Singapore?

Toxic industrial waste includes hazardous materials generated from industrial processes that require specialised handling, transportation, treatment, and disposal under Singapore’s environmental regulations. Common examples include spent solvents, waste chemicals, acids and alkalis, oily sludge, contaminated absorbents, process residues, and other hazardous industrial waste. These materials cannot be disposed of through ordinary waste collection channels and must be managed by a NEA-licensed Toxic Industrial Waste Collector.

Yes. Under Singapore’s environmental regulations, toxic industrial waste must be collected and transported by NEA-licensed Toxic Industrial Waste Collectors and treated or disposed of at approved facilities. Engaging an unlicensed waste collector may expose your business to regulatory non-compliance, environmental responsibilities and potential penalties.

The waste generator remains responsible for ensuring industry is managed correctly until it reaches an approved treatment or final disposal facility. This duty of care includes proper waste classification, licensed collection, compliant transportation, and documented disposal. By partnering with CESCO, businesses can be confident that their waste is managed responsibly and that complete documentation is provided to support regulatory compliance.

CESCO provides comprehensive waste management documentation for every project. Depending on the scope of work, this may include waste collection records, transportation documentation, disposal or treatment records, and other supporting documents that help demonstrate regulatory compliance, waste traceability, and responsible environmental management.

Yes. CESCO provides both ongoing scheduled waste management services and one-off waste collection solutions. We support routine industrial operations as well as plant shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance projects, tank cleaning, industrial cleaning, emergency response, and other specialised project requirements.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CESCO

CESCO acknowledges the recent waste disposal incident in Malaysia and expresses its deepest regret over the matter. We have taken immediate steps to work in full cooperation with the relevant environmental and regulatory authorities to resolve the situation and to prevent any recurrence.

Following a comprehensive internal investigation, it was determined that the incident stemmed from actions taken by third-party contractors that violated our environmental compliance standards and internal governance protocols. The actions were not sanctioned by CESCO and are entirely inconsistent with our values of integrity, sustainability, and corporate accountability.

As part of our response, Mr. Tan Eng Yong — who was involved in the contractor selection process — has ceased all affiliation with CESCO with effect from 25 April 2025. This decision was made to reinforce our uncompromising stance on ethical conduct and responsible stewardship.

CESCO upholds the highest standards of environmental protection, transparency, and operational integrity. We are committed to strengthening our compliance framework and will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the trust placed in us by our stakeholders, communities, and regulatory partners.

We thank the authorities for their continued guidance and oversight during this time.
