Oil Filtration, Purification & Reconditioning Services in Singapore

CESCO provides oil filtration, mineral oil purification, and lube oil reconditioning services in Singapore, helping industrial and marine facilities restore used and contaminated oils to a clean, usable condition rather than discarding them. By removing particulate, water, and other contaminants, we extend the working life of hydraulic, lubricating, transformer, and mineral oils — cutting oil purchase and disposal costs while improving equipment reliability.

Oil Filtration Services

Our oil filtration services remove solid contamination — wear debris, dirt, and particulate — from oil in service or in storage. Contaminated oil accelerates wear on pumps, bearings, and valves, so filtering oil to the required cleanliness class protects equipment and keeps systems running reliably. CESCO carries out oil filtration on hydraulic, lubricating, and turbine oils, targeting the cleanliness standard each system demands and confirming the result by testing.

Mineral Oil Purification Services

Our mineral oil purification services remove water, dissolved gases, and contaminants from mineral-based oils, including transformer and insulating oils where dielectric performance matters. Purification typically combines filtration with dehydration and degassing to bring the oil back within specification. This restores the oil’s protective and performance properties and avoids the cost and downtime of a full oil change.

Lube Oil Reconditioning Services

Our lube oil reconditioning services restore used lubricating oil to a reusable condition by removing the contamination and moisture that degrade it over time. Reconditioning combines filtration and purification to return the oil to specification, so it can go back into service rather than being disposed of. For facilities running large volumes of lube oil, reconditioning delivers significant savings on new oil and on waste disposal — and reduces environmental impact by keeping oil in use longer.

Oils We Handle

CESCO filters, purifies, and reconditions a wide range of industrial and marine oils, including: hydraulic oil

    • lubricating (lube) oil
    • turbine oil
    • gear oil
    • transformer oil
    • insulating oil

Each oil is assessed and treated to the standard its application requires.

Our Oil Reconditioning Process

  1. Sampling and testing — we test the oil to establish its condition and what treatment it needs.
  2. Filtration — solid contamination and particulate are removed to the target cleanliness class.
  3. Dehydration and degassing — water and dissolved gases are removed where required, particularly for purification of mineral and insulating oils.
  4. Verification — the treated oil is tested to confirm it meets specification before returning to service.
  5. Waste handling — any spent filters or unrecoverable residue are disposed of through CESCO’s licensed waste management services.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between oil filtration, purification, and reconditioning?

Filtration removes solid particulate from oil. Purification also removes water and dissolved gases, restoring properties such as dielectric strength in mineral and insulating oils. Reconditioning combines both to return used oil to a reusable, in-spec condition.

2. Can used lubricating oil really be reused?

Yes. Where the oil’s base is still sound, lube oil reconditioning removes the contamination and moisture that degrade it, bringing it back to specification so it can safely return to service.

3. Which oils can CESCO treat?

Hydraulic, lubricating, turbine, gear, transformer and insulating oils, and other mineral-based oils.

4. Does reconditioning oil save money?

For facilities using large volumes of oil, yes — it reduces both the cost of buying new oil and the cost of disposing of used oil, while extending equipment life.

5. Can the work be done on site?

Much of it can, which minimises disruption to your operations. CESCO advises on on-site versus off-site treatment based on the oil and volume involved.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CESCO

CESCO acknowledges the recent waste disposal incident in Malaysia and expresses its deepest regret over the matter. We have taken immediate steps to work in full cooperation with the relevant environmental and regulatory authorities to resolve the situation and to prevent any recurrence.

Following a comprehensive internal investigation, it was determined that the incident stemmed from actions taken by third-party contractors that violated our environmental compliance standards and internal governance protocols. The actions were not sanctioned by CESCO and are entirely inconsistent with our values of integrity, sustainability, and corporate accountability.

As part of our response, Mr. Tan Eng Yong — who was involved in the contractor selection process — has ceased all affiliation with CESCO with effect from 25 April 2025. This decision was made to reinforce our uncompromising stance on ethical conduct and responsible stewardship.

CESCO upholds the highest standards of environmental protection, transparency, and operational integrity. We are committed to strengthening our compliance framework and will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the trust placed in us by our stakeholders, communities, and regulatory partners.

We thank the authorities for their continued guidance and oversight during this time.
